# Licences of the RNL skill package

Copyright 2026 many-question and the contributors of the RNL project, <https://github.com/rich-netlist/rnl>. The package holds text and a few example files, no code that runs and no fonts; each file is under the licence of the same kind of file in the project, as [REUSE.toml](https://github.com/rich-netlist/rnl/blob/main/REUSE.toml) records it. The full texts are in `LICENSES/`.

| Files | Licence | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `SKILL.md`, `references/tools.md`, `LICENSE.md` | [MIT](LICENSES/MIT.txt) | The project's default, for code, configuration and the documents that describe the tools |
| `references/language.md` | [CC-BY-4.0](LICENSES/CC-BY-4.0.txt) | The short version of the language standard, whose text is under CC-BY-4.0. Reuse it with attribution: "RNL language standard 0.3, the RNL project, <https://github.com/rich-netlist/rnl>", and say what you changed |
| `references/packages.md`, `examples/*` | [CC0-1.0](LICENSES/CC0-1.0.txt) | Data: written from the standard packages, which are CC0-1.0, and examples in the manner of the project's examples and test corpora |

What the skill describes but does not hold: the toolkit (the `rnl` command, the npm package `@rich-netlist/runtime`, the web and desktop viewers) is MIT; it embeds the metrics of Noto Sans SC, copyright 2014-2021 Adobe, and the viewers the fonts, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The standard packages come from the component definitions of Analog Canvas, whose copyright holder publishes them under CC0-1.0. These terms and the texts in `LICENSES/` are those of the source repository at the commit the package was built from; the repository is the authority when they differ.
