RICH NETLIST · TRANSLATION
Translation status
English is the source of every text of RNL; every other language is a translation that follows it
This report was made from the list of what there is to translate when the site was built; every pull request gets the same one. To translate a language or bring one up to date, start from i18n/README.md.
How far each language is
The report is in English, as the texts it counts are. A missing translation shows the English; a stale one was made from an English text that has changed since.

Not counted
- Fixed phrases of Annex A of the standard: scripts/spec/spectools.py (ROLE_NOTE, TAKES_ZH and the other tables). In code until step 4 of decision 0015, which moves them to i18n/{lang}/spec.json.
- Other texts of the viewers: about 30 error messages returned by the desktop app's Rust code, shown as they are.
- Installers and the desktop's integration: apps/desktop/tauri.conf.json (the NSIS installer in English and Chinese, from Tauri's own texts; the MSI in English only), the short description in tauri.linux.conf.json and tauri.macos.conf.json, the file associations.
- Glossary: how a language renders RNL's English terms: Not part of the standard: the English terms are the only normative ones (decision 0016). Each entry gives the English term, its sense where it has several, the language's rendering, variants not to use and its kind; a catalog text whose English has the term and whose translation uses a variant is reported, never failing. Shown on the site as glossary.html.
- Diagnostics of the core and the command line, and its usage text: The standard leaves the wording and language of diagnostics open (7.6). They are free English text without codes, and tools, tests, documents and agents read and quote them as they are; the viewers show them as they are.
- The skill package for agents, skills/rnl/: Read by agents, and in English only; its guide to the language is a copy of the English short guide.
- llms.txt, the plain-text entry for agents, site/src/llms.txt: Read by agents, and in English only, like the skill package it points to; the owner had its Chinese version removed.
- The READMEs of the repositories, docs/, the READMEs of crates, apps, packages and scripts, CONTRIBUTING.md: In English only: the READMEs of rnl, rnl-packages and rnl-gallery keep no translation beside them (decision 0015, point 9), and the documents for developers, docs/rnl-toolchain-architecture.md included.
- Bodies of the release notes: Released notes are records; only their one-sentence summary is translated (release-summaries).
- Comments in code and in package files, the tags of the gallery: Code comments are in English; the comments of rnl-zh are in Chinese and stay so. Gallery tags are shown as written in every language.
